We were delighted to attend Eastwood High School’s recent Careers Fair, giving pupils the chance to find out more about the wide range of roles and career paths available across our business and the wider transport, waste and recycling industries.
For many people, the most visible side of Murdoch’s is our fleet out on the road, but there is a much bigger operation behind every job! Careers across the business can include professional driving, vehicle maintenance, waste and recycling operations, industrial services, haulage, planning and operational support. The Careers Fair was a great opportunity to speak directly with pupils about those different careers, answer questions about the industry and give them a clearer picture of the skills, qualifications and experience involved in working across such a varied business.
We were also pleased to highlight current opportunities within J&M Murdoch, including Class 1 and Class 2 driving roles, while speaking more broadly about how careers within the sector can develop over time.
A big thank you to Eastwood High School for inviting us along and to everyone who stopped by the J&M Murdoch stand during the evening!
We would also like to give a special mention to the pupils who helped throughout the event. Their support was very much appreciated and helped make the evening such a positive experience for everyone involved.
